Classic Elegance from the Range Rover Vogue SE

The Range Rover, a design icon, and one of the few cars to be displayed at the Louvre Museum, Paris as an "exemplary work of industrial design". First introduced in 1970 as a 4 wheel drive two door workhorse estate with 3.5L V8, 4 speed manual high/ low gearbox and "hose down" interior. Evolving over 25 years as an elegant, capable and comfortable mode of transport without compromising it's supreme off road ability. While the Range Rover continues to evolve there is a certain purity to the original that it's successors cannot capture and which we seek to preserve with the "hard dash" four door Range Rover Classic shown above.

Many classic vehicles suffer severe corrosion from the passing of time not helped by the abundance of salt used on UK roads in the winter months. This is not the case in Japan. Fortunately the Land Rover export renaissance started in the late 1980's when the Range Rover was first launched in North America and from 1990 in Japan. Japan being salt free and, unlike North America, RHD. Many British two seat sports cars exported to the USA have since been re-imported to the UK and now the same is happening to modern classics first exported to Japan like our Range Rover. The pinnacle of the hard dash 4 door model range is the Vogue SE and after much searching we have sourced a re-imported vehicle originally built for the Japanese market with the ideal specification.

An excellent reference site, owned and run by Vidar Eriksen, explains the story and specification of the Japan export cars recognizable by the chrome finish bumpers, V8 badges and third brake light (missing from UK models of that era). Find out more at www.range-rover-classic.com

Our corrosion free Westminister Grey Vogue SE with Winchester Grey leather was acquired in December 2014 and comes with full walnut pack, original paint, very low mileage (and no tow bar). The car spent most of 2015 with Kingsley Cars, the world renowned Range Rover Classic specialist, based near Oxford, being re-commissioned. While the car is highly spec'd many of the electric features fail through time and our car has benefitted from a complete overhaul of the central locking, cruise control, electric seat adjustment and air conditioning systems. The car also has new exhaust catalysts and sits on new springs and dampers and our preferred Pirelli Scorpion Verde road tyres. Basically the car has enjoyed a re-birth.

The Range Rover Vogue SE makes for a very capable, supremely comfortable, long distance traveller. While the Westminster Grey metallic paint, leather upholstery and colour coded alloys combine to create a superb looking vehicle; more so since classic Range Rover's in original condition are becoming increasingly rare and difficult to source.
